When Medical Marijuana was up for a vote in Arizona (prop203), it took about two weeks to count everything and announce that the proposition passed after a very close race. While it looked like Prop205 to legalize recreational marijuana in the state did not pass this week, information is starting to come out that it may actually pass. I’m not sure if it will actually happen and pass afterall given the conflicted feelings among the pro-legalization community regarding Prop205, but if Arizona does remain a medical only state it’ll be interesting to see what economic implications may arise as neighbors California, Nevada, and Colorado are all popular tourist destinations that have recreational marijuana, too. I know our neighborhood was really hoping for the economic opportunity it would provide to a once-thriving mining town on the border. (We hear Maine is still counting, too.)
